Data Processing Addendum

This Data Processing Addendum explains how Fire Alarm Tech Toolkit handles customer-controlled data for cloud backup, device sync, shared projects, live team sync, and team workspace features.

Effective date: July 12, 2026

1. Scope

This Data Processing Addendum applies when Fire Alarm Tech Toolkit processes personal information or customer-controlled data on behalf of a user, company, Team Workspace, or Company Workspace in connection with cloud backup, device sync, live team sync, shared projects, workspace membership, support, or related app features.

This DPA is incorporated into the Terms of Service. If there is a conflict between this DPA and the Terms of Service about processing customer-controlled personal data, this DPA controls for that topic.

2. Roles

For workspace, project, device, report, and customer data that you enter into the app, you are the controller or business responsible for deciding what data is added, who can access it, how long it is kept, and whether you have the right to use it. Fire Alarm Tech Toolkit acts as a processor or service provider for that data when we host, sync, back up, transmit, or otherwise process it to provide the service.

3. Customer instructions

We process customer-controlled data only to provide, secure, maintain, troubleshoot, improve, and support Fire Alarm Tech Toolkit; to operate requested features; to prevent abuse or security issues; to comply with law; and as otherwise described in the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, or this DPA.

4. Types of data

Customer-controlled data may include project names, building or site information, floors, device records, extinguisher records, addresses, locations, serial numbers, barcode or QR values, notes, reports, workspace names, member names or emails, support messages, and related technical records needed to sync or secure the service.

5. Customer responsibilities

You are responsible for obtaining any required notices, permissions, consents, authorizations, and rights before entering, uploading, syncing, sharing, exporting, or storing personal information, customer information, company information, or job-site information in Fire Alarm Tech Toolkit.

You are also responsible for managing workspace members, permissions, invite links, exports, shared reports, device access, and independent backups of important data.

6. Security measures

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect customer-controlled data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure. These measures may include access controls, service-provider security controls, transport security where supported, monitoring, backups, logging, and limiting access to people or providers who need it to operate or support the service.

No system is perfectly secure, and Fire Alarm Tech Toolkit cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, data loss, outages, or security incidents will never occur.

7. Subprocessors and service providers

We may use subprocessors and service providers to host, store, sync, analyze, secure, troubleshoot, email, support, and operate the app and website. We remain responsible for selecting providers we believe are appropriate for the service and for requiring them to process data only as needed to provide their services to us.

8. Data subject and privacy requests

If we receive a privacy request related to customer-controlled data in a workspace, we may direct the requester to the workspace owner or customer where appropriate. We will provide reasonable assistance for access, correction, deletion, or export requests to the extent the request relates to data we process on your behalf and the feature is technically available.

9. Security incidents

If we become aware of a confirmed security incident involving customer-controlled personal data, we will provide notice without unreasonable delay where required by law or where we believe notice is appropriate. Notice may be sent through the app, website, account email, workspace owner contact, or support email.

10. Return and deletion

The app may provide tools to export, remove, or delete certain records. After account closure, workspace closure, deletion request, or termination, we may delete or de-identify customer-controlled data according to our retention practices, legal obligations, backup schedules, abuse-prevention needs, and technical limitations.

Backup copies, logs, and records needed for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or abuse prevention may remain for a limited period after deletion.

11. International processing

Fire Alarm Tech Toolkit and its service providers may process and store information in the United States or other locations where we or our providers operate. You are responsible for determining whether your use of the app is appropriate for your legal and business requirements.

12. Audits and information

Upon reasonable written request, we may provide available information about our data processing and security practices to help you evaluate your use of the service. We are not required to disclose confidential security details, trade secrets, third-party confidential information, or information that would create security risk.

13. Changes to this DPA

We may update this DPA from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of Fire Alarm Tech Toolkit after changes means the updated DPA applies to your use.
